Mission Statement

The R.A.U.S.I. curling league is an open members’ league devoted to creating “a great curling experience on and off the ice.”

History

The RAUSI curling league was originally affiliated with the R.A.U.S.I. (Royal Alberta United Services Institute) Calgary branch. When Canadian Forces Base Calgary closed in 1998, the members decided to continue using the name.

While at the CFB Calgary Curling Club, at least three club presidents were RAUSI league members. When the club closed in 2000, RAUSI members were a large part of the volunteer effort that helped with the planning, building and fundraising for what became the Garrison Curling Club in 2004.

While at the Garrison Calgary Curling Club, four club presidents have been RAUSI league members. Over time, advanced age, health issues and members passing away significantly depleted the original membership. In 2019 the RAUSI curling league merged with the CP Curling League from the Inglewood Golf and Curling Club. Other teams have since joined the league, and ice remains available for expansion.

Where and when we curl

We rent ice at the Garrison Curling Club on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Disclaimer

Since the closing of Canadian Forces Base Calgary in 1998, the RAUSI curling league has continued using the name but is no longer part of the Royal Alberta United Services Institute Calgary branch. We are not affiliated with the Garrison Curling Club, except as facility users.
